Portland, Maine's Gathering Spot

a casual restaurant that specializes in serving Maine grown comfort food.

our commitment to sourcing local ingredients expands each day. we are amazed that so many hard working people in maine are producing such fantastic ingredients to choose from. whether it is fresh beef, pork, lamb or chicken, there are farmer’s growing these animals locally. many more farmer’s are providing us with fresh greens, herbs, and vegetables throughout the year. of course, we cannot forget about the fish and shellfish that are abundant just a stone’s throw from our front door.

let the food speak for itself

our goal is to prepare all of these fine locally-grown products, as simply as possible, to let them speak for themselves. our choices for the wine list not only complement the food, but many are produced using organic and sustainable practices.

what happens when our local supply of products runs out you may ask. we continue to support the small guy by sourcing our ingredients from farms as close to maine as possible. several farms in new england continue to produce year round, so we have a steady supply of naturally raised meats and vegetables.

an invitation from the chef & his wife

both sue and i invite you to try the farmer’s table. we are roasting your favorite chicken, mashing the “butteriest” potatoes, and sautéing the freshest vegetables we can put on your plate...

or maybe it’s the grilled fish you want ...
or the pasta ...
or ... you get the idea.

we have seating on two beautiful floors plus two wonderful decks for al fresco dining when the weather permits (we are in maine folks!).

and finally, what is with these lower case letters?

we feel that it helps to create the casual mood here at the farmer’s table. we hope you feel that way too.
